Some love stories take a little longer to come full circle. Rebecca and Brantley’s story is proof that the best things in life are worth waiting for. Their wedding day in Lakeland was full of meaning, family, and a feeling that everyone present had been waiting a long time to witness this exact moment.

A High School Love Story That Found Its Way Back

Rebecca and Brantley first met in high school and quickly became high school sweethearts. Life eventually took them down different paths. But sometimes the right love simply finds its way back.

Eighteen years later, here they were standing together again, this time with a beautiful family beside them and ready to finally say “I do.”

Planning their wedding was never just about the two of them. Their daughters and extended family were such an important part of their story, and every detail of the day reflected that.

Why They Chose The Terrace Hotel in Lakeland

Becca and Brant chose The Terrace Hotel Lakeland because it already held a special place in their lives. As a Lakeland staple, it is somewhere they regularly visit and dine together, making it a meaningful and sentimental place to celebrate their wedding.

The historic charm of the hotel paired beautifully with their vision of classic Southern elegance. With its timeless architecture and downtown location overlooking Lake Mirror, The Terrace offers an atmosphere that feels both intimate and iconic for couples who love Lakeland as much as these two do.

A Ceremony at Kryger Park

The ceremony took place at Kryger Park, a peaceful outdoor setting surrounded by Florida greenery.

One of the most touching moments of the day happened before Becca even reached the aisle.

It was incredibly important to her that her family be included because they are all very close. Her nephew Titus proudly escorted her down the park steps to meet her father, who then walked her the rest of the way down the aisle to Brant.

It was a beautiful moment that perfectly reflected the closeness of their family.

The weather had us watching the forecast closely, but it ended up being absolutely perfect. The sky stayed just overcast enough to create the dreamiest lighting for photos.

A Classic, Southern Style

Becca’s bridal look was the definition of timeless elegance. She chose a simple white satin ball gown that felt classic and sophisticated while still allowing her natural beauty to shine. Brant wore an all black tuxedo but added a very personal touch. His bow tie was made from pheasant feathers as a nod to his love of hunting. It was a subtle detail that made his attire incredibly meaningful and true to who he is.

Their bridesmaids, which included their two oldest daughters, wore Latte dresses from Azazie, creating a warm neutral palette that complemented the overall aesthetic beautifully. The color palette was rooted in traditional elegance. Neutral tones paired with lush white florals created a refined and romantic look. Magnolias were incorporated into the floral design since they are Becca’s favorite flower and such a beautiful symbol of Southern charm.

A Favorite Movie With a Full Circle Moment

One of the sweetest personal details came from their very first date. Becca and Brant’s first date was going to see the movie Sweet Home Alabama. When it came time to choose their recessional song, there was really only one option. As husband and wife, they walked back down the aisle to “Sweet Home Alabama.” It was the perfect nod to where their story began.

A Wedding Favor That Included Everyone

Another thoughtful detail involved Brantley’s brother Jacob.

Jacob does not have his sense of sight but he loves music and sound. Becca and Brantley wanted to make sure he could experience the celebration in a meaningful way. Their wedding favors were tambourines, allowing Jacob to feel part of the music and the celebration on the dance floor. They ended up being a huge hit with guests as well and created such a fun, joyful energy throughout the evening.

A Celebration Filled With Heart

The reception at The Terrace Hotel felt warm, relaxed, and full of love. Everything about the design stayed true to who Becca and Brant are. It was simple, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in their Southern values. Rather than over the top décor, the day focused on meaningful details, family connections, and celebrating the life they have built together.

A Personal Note From Me

Getting to know Becca and Brant during the planning process was such a gift. They quickly became more than clients. They became friends. One of my favorite personal touches was the gift I gave them, Rock ’Em Sock ’Em Robots. It is a fun little nod to the movie Sweet Home Alabama and perfectly matched their playful personalities.

But the moment that truly melted my heart came from their oldest daughter, Kai. She looked at me and asked if I would plan her wedding someday. I told her of course I would, even if I am an old lady by then wearing orthotic shoes and in need of a walker.
