Tiffany and Matthew’s wedding at Ever After Farms Citrus Barn in Polk City, Florida, was the perfect reflection of the two of them: fun, relaxed, family-centered, and filled with meaningful details that made the day truly theirs.

From the very beginning, family was at the heart of this wedding. Considering their love story began because someone in their circle decided these two needed to meet, it feels especially fitting.

A Love Story That Started with a Friend

Tiffany and Matthew were introduced by their friend Troy, who also happens to own Belly Bustin’ Barbecue and eventually catered their wedding.

Troy bowled with Matthew, introduced the two of them, and, as they say, the rest is history.

When their wedding day arrived, their families weren’t simply there to witness it. They were woven into nearly every part of the celebration.

Their boys and nephew served as ring bearers, while Tiffany’s sister and nieces, along with Matthew’s niece, were part of the wedding party. It was one of those days when you could immediately tell this wasn’t only about two people getting married. It was about celebrating the family they had built together.

An August Wedding in Central Florida

If you’ve planned an August wedding in Florida, you already know one thing: We watch the radar.

And watch it we did.

Despite the summer heat and the ever-present possibility of an afternoon storm, the weather held for Tiffany and Matthew’s outdoor ceremony. The rain waited until everyone was safely inside enjoying the reception, which I will absolutely count as a wedding-day win.

Tiffany walked down the aisle in a beautiful ivory tulle and lace gown from Ivory & Lace Bridal. Matthew wore a sage suit that coordinated beautifully with the bridesmaids’ dusty sage dresses. The groomsmen kept things comfortable in the Florida heat with linen pants and vests, while the littlest gentlemen tied everything together in khakis, white shirts, and suspenders.

Their refined earth-tone palette included soft ivory, warm beige, terracotta rose, dusty sage, and deep sage, creating a warm and romantic look that felt natural without becoming overly formal. Robin and Rose Design created the bouquets and boutonnieres to complement the venue’s décor, tying everything together beautifully.

Keeping Loved Ones Close

Some of the most meaningful details were also the quietest.

Tiffany and Matthew wanted to make sure the loved ones who could not physically be there were still represented on their wedding day. Tiffany’s dad’s boots and Matthew’s mom’s sweater were thoughtfully included so a piece of each of them could still be present.

Later in the evening, Matthew shared his mother-son spotlight dance with his new mother-in-law, Janice. It was another beautiful reminder that weddings aren’t only about joining two people. They’re about joining families, too.

The Little Details Are Never Really Little

One of my favorite parts of planning and coordinating weddings is finding ways to add thoughtful details that make the day feel more personal for my couples.

For Tiffany and Matthew, I made sure to include the personal touches that meant the most to them so their wedding would feel unmistakably like theirs. That included displaying their engagement photos throughout the venue, creating the decal for their guest book cooler, designing signage for the bars and guest book, and providing QR code signage so guests could easily upload the photos they captured throughout the celebration.

These details were not simply decorative. They helped tell Tiffany and Matthew’s story, reflect their relationship, and create a celebration that felt personal rather than generic. Making space for those meaningful touches is one of the ways I help couples make their wedding truly their own.

And because August in Florida does not play around, my sister and I also created their wedding programs by hand and designed them to double as fans for guests during the ceremony.

Pretty and practical will always have my heart.

Those details may seem small individually, but together, they help turn a wedding into an experience that feels intentional, personal, and completely unique to the couple.

One Last Dance… With Their Boys

At the end of the evening on the Last Dance Patio, Tiffany and Matthew planned a private final dance.

Except this one wasn’t only for the newlyweds.

They invited their boys to join them and danced together to Porter’s favorite song, Pretty Little Baby.

After a day centered so deeply around family, I honestly can’t imagine a more fitting way for them to end it.

The reception space emptied, the wedding day slowed down for just a few minutes, and the four of them got to simply be together before walking out and beginning this next chapter as a family.

And that is what I want my couples to remember.

Not whether every napkin was perfectly straight or whether the timeline shifted by three minutes. I want them to remember how their wedding felt and the people standing beside them when it mattered most.
