October 24, 2026 | Longwood and Lake Mary, Florida
There is something special about a wedding day that brings together a couple's favorite things, their families, and the traditions that mean the most to them. For Kimberly Lastawicka and John Cahill, their October wedding was a celebration of faith, family, and their shared love of golf, all wrapped in a romantic sunset-inspired color palette and an evening filled with dancing.
From their traditional Catholic ceremony at Nativity Catholic Church in Longwood to their lively reception at Heathrow Country Club in Lake Mary, their celebration brought together so many meaningful pieces of their story.

A Meaningful Beginning at Nativity Catholic Church
For Kimmy and John, choosing where to exchange their vows was about much more than finding a beautiful setting.
Nativity Catholic Church has been part of John's life for many years, and it is now a place of worship they share together. Beginning their marriage in a church that holds such personal significance made their ceremony especially meaningful.
Surrounded by their closest family and friends, Kimmy and John celebrated a traditional Catholic wedding Mass officiated by Father David Scotchie.
One of my favorite moments of the entire day came just after Father Scotchie pronounced them husband and wife. As Kimmy and John made their way back down the aisle, they threw their hands into the air in pure excitement, their faces absolutely beaming. It was such a spontaneous moment of joy, and one that perfectly captured their excitement about beginning this next chapter together.
A Romantic Color Palette with a Personal Connection
The design for Kimmy and John's wedding embraced the soft, romantic colors of a Florida sunset. Muted peach, coral, cream, sage, and eucalyptus greenery created a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout their celebration.
But the peach tones held a little extra meaning.
Kimmy is originally from Syracuse, New York, and wanted to incorporate a subtle nod to her hometown and Syracuse University's signature orange. Rather than using a bold orange, the palette softened that inspiration into romantic peach and coral hues that beautifully complemented their floral arrangements and reception design.
Kimmy wore a beautiful strapless gown featuring delicate lace and layers of soft tulle. She selected her dress in Syracuse with her family, making it another special connection to home. John complemented her look in a classic suit, creating a timeless pairing for their wedding portraits.
From the floral invitations to the delicate bridal accessories, every detail reflected Kimmy and John's romantic wedding style.

A Celebration Inspired by Their Love of Golf
When it came time to choose their reception venue, Heathrow Country Club was a natural fit.
Golf is something Kimmy and John genuinely enjoy together, and they have even attended the Masters Tournament as a couple. Choosing a country club allowed them to incorporate that shared passion while keeping their reception conveniently located near Nativity Catholic Church.
One of my favorite personal details was their signature cocktail, appropriately named the Azalea Ever After.
Inspired by the famous Azalea cocktail associated with the Masters, the drink brought a playful and personal touch to their celebration. Alongside the signature cocktail signage, I incorporated a photograph of Kimmy and John attending the Masters together, giving their guests a little glimpse into one of their favorite shared experiences.
It was a simple detail, but one that made their wedding feel distinctly theirs.

Bringing All the Details Together
One of the things I love most about wedding planning is finding ways to make all the individual details feel intentional and cohesive.
When I joined Kimmy and John's planning journey, many of their major decisions had already been made. My focus was bringing those elements together in a way that felt consistent with their vision while making sure the overall experience flowed beautifully.
Working alongside Toni, John, and the incredible team at Heathrow Country Club, I refined the reception layout and designed custom signage to complement their romantic color palette. I also incorporated pieces from my Something Blue Events décor collection to carry the design throughout the space.
The beautiful floral arrangements from Atmospheres Floral added warmth and texture, with soft peach, coral, and cream blooms creating an inviting setting for dinner and dancing.
I wanted the entire celebration to feel connected, from the welcome signage to the signature cocktail display and reception tables. Sometimes, it is those smaller finishing touches that make the biggest difference.
Family, Traditions, and the People Who Matter Most
Family played an important role throughout Kimmy and John's wedding day.
The morning began with Kimmy getting ready alongside her mother, Jennifer, her sister and maid of honor, Kelsey, and the women closest to her. John's mother, Tracy, was also part of the morning preparations.
One particularly sweet moment was Kimmy presenting gifts to her parents, a thoughtful gesture of appreciation before the day's festivities began.
John was joined by his brother and best man, Matt, who would later become one of the most enthusiastic participants on the dance floor.
With their families and loved ones gathered to witness their vows, the day celebrated not only Kimmy and John's marriage, but also the people who have been part of their journey.
A Dance Floor That Never Slowed Down
If there was one thing Kimmy and John's guests were ready to do, it was dance.
Following an evening of delicious food and celebration at Heathrow Country Club, the dance floor quickly became the center of attention.
And once Kimmy joined in, she hardly left.
Surrounded by her bridesmaids, friends, and family, she spent the evening celebrating to the music of iRock Your Party. Matt, the best man, was right there keeping the energy going, and the dance floor stayed packed throughout the night.
As a wedding planner, I always enjoy seeing guests fully embrace the celebration, and this group certainly knew how to have a good time.
